Book cover collage of machine learning training images

The book explores the intersection of machine learning and human perception. It presents a comprehensive dataset of images used to train algorithms in pattern recognition, organized by annotations for algorithmic segmentation.

The images depict everyday items like buses, bikes, and animals, serving as inputs for the algorithm. The goal is to probe the nature and biases of these datasets, reflecting on how they shape our view of the world and how machines might offer insights into human understanding.

The 2019 identity for the Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s Studium Generale lecture series, "Take a Walk on the Wild Side," focused on fabulation and non-linear narratives. This concept was embodied in a versatile landscape system, serving both as a digital and physical backdrop for the event’s campaign.

Supervised by Bart de Baets, designed in collaboration with Aleksandra Kwiatkowska and Klara Graah.

"Apples for Sales" booklet on an offset printing plate

This booklet, designed for Rebecca Sampson’s "Apples for Sales" exhibition, mirrors the identity forms of Indonesian domestic workers in Hong Kong. It integrates text as a visual element, symbolizing the workers' identity—sometimes clear in the foreground, sometimes subtly in the background.

The design reflects the complex, layered lives of these women, as portrayed in Sampson’s multi-media narrative of photographs, social media, and text.

Inside-Out Outside-In booklet front cover

A compact guide for students at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, providing key resources about life in the Netherlands, Amsterdam, and within the academy. The guide is divided into two sections: "Inside", which concentrates on school-related information printed in black on white, and "Outside", which focuses on essential resources for the city and country, presented in white on black.

The layout of the text creates blank spaces on the page that serve as canvases. Within these spaces, the words "IN" and "OUT" are being drawn to fill the gaps.
